i’m just looking for something scene mostly.
Rozz Tox
I couldn’t find my usual drink on the menu and being a nervous awkward type didn’t feel like asking if they could make me one. I instead got a Cafe Da. That’s how they named it. It didn’t have any of those markings that indicate the pronunciation but whatever. The drink literally just translates to Coffee Ice, which is why it was a little strange that the barista offered a hot one first. I didn’t want to decline. It’s very basic. Strongly brewed coffee poured over (ice optional) some condensed milk.
My criteria for a coffee shop hasn’t really been fully formed yet, but this place is checking all my boxes. Coffee’s good. Wifi’s free and easily accessible. Isn’t that all you really want in a place? They have a Go Board. I didn’t think I would honestly ever see a place that had one of those. i don’t think I’ll put it on the list but it definitely is something that ranks this place up a little higher There’s this old turn-crank tv. It’s playing some 90s movie on three of them with john cosack. I think he’s some sort of comedian in it. Jack Black is in it too. I could probably identify the movie off those two stars alone but the sounds isn’t on so I can’t really follow the movie anyway.
there was a set of journals by the door. Light brown covers like paper grocery paper bags. I’m listening to the owner talk with a random patron about the history of the place. I induced that previous patrons could add what every they felt to them. There were a lot of sketches. Phone numbers. Lots of droll college existential musings. I added my usual. A piece of modern hacktivist symbolism and bit of poetry regarding unrequited love. I don’t know if I wanted anyone to ever see it, but I knew it felt good to add a little piece of myself to the crowdsourced.
There was a set of public journals by the door; light brown covers like paper grocery bags. There were a lot of sketches. Phone numbers soliciting acts of a sexual nature. Lots of droll college existential musings. i added my usual: a piece of modern hacktivist symbolism and a bit of vapid poetry regarding unrequited love. I don’t know if I wanted deepdown for anyone to ever see it, but it felt good to see myself in a piece of crowd sourced cleverness.
